Wharton Global Youth Program Opportunities for High School Students in 2023

Wharton Summer High School Programs Are Open for Business - Wharton Global Youth Program

The Wharton Global Youth Program offers engaging programming that introduces business and finance education to high school students around the world. Students can participate in Global Youth programs regardless of where they are located, with both online and on-campus programs available! Students will explore the breadth of a Wharton business education, strengthen their leadership skills, develop an entrepreneurial mindset—and potentially earn University of Pennsylvania college credit.

Immersive, pre-collegiate experiences for students currently enrolled in grades 9–11.

 

Philadelphia-based Programs:

  • Essentials of Entrepreneurship (Choose from 4 – 2 week sessions beginning June 4, 2023)
  • Essentials of Finance (Choose from 4 – 2 week sessions beginning June 4, 2023)
  • Leadership in the Business World (Choose from 3 – 3 week sessions beginning June 4, 2023)
  • Data Science Academy (3 week session; July 16 – August 4, 2023)
  • Moneyball Academy (3 week session; July 9 – 29, 2023)
  • Management & Technology Summer Institute (3 week session: July 9 – 29, 2023)

This July and August the Wharton Global Youth Program is traveling to San Francisco, California and Cambridge, England, to give high school students the opportunity to explore the intersection of culture and business.  Study business with us in locations selected to enrich our course content and expose students to regional and cultural experiences that strengthen global perspectives.

 

San Francisco, CA: Innovation and Startup Culture

Wharton’s Innovation and Startup Culture program introduces hands-on experiences in all aspects of the venture creation process. Throughout the intensive two-week summer program, students will learn the strategies that successful entrepreneurs use to generate new ideas and develop them into disruptive high-growth ventures.  

 

Cambridge, UK: Strategy and International Management

Wharton's Strategy and International Management program explores organizational strategy, principles of management, and international business from a vibrant hub of innovation and research at the heart of Cambridge, England. Throughout the two-week program, students will prepare university-level business cases that introduce a company’s management challenges and propose solutions.

  • Future of the Business World (Choose from 3 – 2 week sessions beginning June 5, 2023)

  • Essentials of Leadership (Choose from 2 – 2 week sessions beginning June 20, 2023)
  • Moneyball Academy: Training Camp (Choose from 2 – 1 week sessions beginning June 26, 2023)
  • Understanding Your Money (Self-paced)

A dual-enrollment opportunity that invites high school juniors and seniors to apply to enroll in credit-bearing online courses designed directly from the business curriculum at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a world leader in business education. Course topics include statistics, marketing, health economics, analytics, management and finance.

 

Session options:

  • Summer 1 (May 22 – June 28; application deadline is March 30, 2023)
  • Summer 2 (June 29 – August 4; application deadline is May 3, 2023)

 

These are great opportunities for high school students to experience Wharton, while simultaneously strengthening the Wharton brand and encouraging more students to apply to Penn from Southern California.
